The award process has three stages

Application

The application window has now closed. Many thanks to all charities who have submitted applications.

All applications will be reviewed against clearly defined criteria by an independent consultant, who will present a shortlist to a judging panel. The panel will then select five finalists.

Detailed proposal

The five finalists will be notified by 1 July 2018 and will then be invited to submit a detailed proposal as well as additional documents. The WCIT Charity will be seeking evidence of the applicants’ ability to deliver on the proposal, and the independent consultant and the Clerk of the WCIT will visit all the finalists during July and August 2018 as part of the due diligence process.

Presentation

The five finalists will be asked to present their projects to members of the WCIT and the judging panel during the evening of 17 September 2018. The panel will select the final award recipient, who will be announced at a dinner on 10 October 2018.

This substantial award will be treated like a grant, and the WCIT Charity will closely monitor the delivery of the chosen project and look to form an ongoing relationship with the award recipient.
