Simple tech has big impact

A child using Cosmo

The WCIT Charity has a long-term relationship with Lifelites, and in 2024 a grant enabled the organisation to provide 14 Cosmo units and iPads to 14 children’s hospices across the UK. That meant that over 2,500 children with life limiting conditions and complex disabilities, their family members and palliative care staff had access to additional tools to entertain, educate and distract the children in their care.

The Cosmo switch system re-imagines inclusive learning, therapy and play to help improve both cogitation and physical mobility for children with complex needs. With six adaptable switches, Cosmo is portable, simple to set up and easy to use, encouraging inclusive fun for children of all abilities and their families.

Along with the units, the grant allowed Lifelites to provide training and project support to the hospices so that staff were confident in engaging children with the technology.
